Toronto, ON (August 12, 2019): Great Canadian Gaming Corporation (“Great Canadian”) is pleased to announce that the world-class gaming and entertainment destination located in Pickering, Ontario, in the eastern Greater Toronto Area (“GTA”), will be called Pickering Casino Resort. The resort will be a draw for all who enjoy exceptional service, thrilling gaming options, live entertainment and diverse dining experiences.

“While we have so much more to develop and construct, being able to share the brand name of the resort with the community is an exciting next step for us,” said Tyrone Waite, General Manager, Pickering Casino Resort. Construction of Pickering Casino Resort started last year and is projected to open in two phases.

The first phase is slated to open in early 2020 and will feature a number of gaming and dining options, while the second phase will include a full scope of entertainment amenities and hotel offerings. Once complete, the development will employ over 2,000 as part of the casino resort’s team.

“We will now be concentrating on hosting career fairs and seeking local talent to join our team. We are looking for people who have exceptional guest service skills and are willing to learn and grow with the company. We have great training programs that will equip our team members with the right skill set and set them up for future success,” added Waite. Casino.org is the world’s leading independent online gaming authority, providing trusted online casino news, guides, reviews and information since 1995. The 330,000-square-foot gambling venue, aptly named Pickering Casino Resort, is being built by One Toronto Gaming and is expected to open in April. The casino, designed by CDA in association with CGL, will feature 2,350 slot machines, 100 live table games and dining and entertainment facilities.

One Toronto Gaming is a partnership between Great Canadian and Brookfield Business Partners (“Brookfield”) to operate gaming facilities located in the Greater Toronto Area, including Pickering Casino Resort. In August 2017, Great Canadian and Brookfield were selected as the successful proponents by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (“OLG”) to operate the three existing gaming facilities in the GTA, now branded as Casino Woodbine, Casino Ajax and Great Blue Heron Casino.

But it looks like that will all be changing. Which is good news for anyone who is looking for something to do on the weekend, and anyone who will be needing a job in the coming years.

That's because Pickering is in the process of getting a casino, waterpark, and hotel all rolled into one. Yes,all those things will be in one place apparently.

The complex would apparently create OVER 10,000 JOBS! Over 2,000 of those people would be working in the casino itself.

There isn’t any set date for when this would open (which is unfortunate because it sounds quite simply amazing) Durham Live is in the process of getting all its permits in order before beginning construction on the complex.

But once open it would give people in the GTA a new casino option that’s a lot closer than driving to Barrie or Niagara Falls.

The city of Toronto itself has turned down the idea of building a casino downtown many times in the past.

But if Durham Live get everything sorted out with their permits then we could all have a new option for an extremely fun night out right here in the GTA.
